
Spring is sneaking in and it’s time to get outside. On Polk and Broadway April 26 you can hear live music from noon til 10pm. Listen to hour after hour of guitars picking their way through bluegrass, jazz and electronics. “Picking on the Polk” headlines local musicians and it’s all your for free.

Always looking for an entertaining new angle, Endgames Theater is presenting a show on Mission Street featuring comedians who will respond to your questions about personal advice. It’s called “Asking for a Friend” and tests whether these jokers can respond hilariously to your issues. It happens this Saturday from 7-8pm. Tickets, for some mysterious reason, cost $12.16.

Speaking of health and wellness, if you are over 55 the University of California School of Dentistry is offering free dental, hearing and diabetes screenings this Saturday at their school on 5th Street in the City. The event also includes tips on preventing falls. Easily accessible by Muni, BART and Caltrain.

How well acquainted are you with pelicans? Get to know them better this Saturday at the Linda Mar State Beach in Pacifica. The focus will be on resident brown pelicans, led by experts in marine biology. It’s a great way to celebrate Earth Day thanks to all the booths and speakers in attendance. Free, of course.
